Debito is made by one person, and that person once owed over $50,000 on credit cards. I am still paying it off. We are on first-name terms now, the debt and I. It is not a friendship.

For a long time my system was simple: do not open the envelopes. When I finally did, I built a spreadsheet. Then a prettier one in Canva, on the theory that I would look at it more if it had nice fonts. I did not. Every time I wanted one answer, I had to maintain the whole contraption first, and on a bad month that was the part I did not have in me.

So I built the thing I wished existed. Type in one balance and get a real date. See the month before it happens, including the Tuesday where rent leaves before payday. And never once feel told off for it.

What I promise

No ads, and nobody paying to put a loan in front of you. That is how most free debt tools stay free. This one is paid for by people who choose Extra, and that is the whole business.

Nothing here is built to make you feel worse. No streak that punishes a hard month, no guilt-flavoured notifications. The rules the app is built against are published in full, so you can hold me to them.

It is far more common than anybody lets on, and the quiet is what makes it feel like a personal failure. It is not. It is an ordinary situation with a way out, usually slower than you would like, and the arithmetic is on your side once you can see it.
