Delete your account
Last updated: October 2, 2026
You can delete your Debito account, and everything in it, whenever you like. It takes effect straight away and cannot be undone.
In the app
Open Debito, tap the circle with your initial at the top of Home to open Settings, and choose Delete account. You will be asked to confirm before anything is deleted.
On the website
Sign in, open Settings, and choose Delete account under “Delete your account”.
If you cannot sign in
Email support@debito.app from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We will reply within two business days, and delete the account once we have confirmed the request came from that address — asking from the address itself is how we know it is yours.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in, so the account no longer exists.
- Your plan: debts, balances, interest rates, bills, income, opening balances and every payment you logged.
- Money people owe you, shared bills you created, and the current and savings accounts you added.
- Linked banks. The connection is revoked with our banking provider, Plaid, and the encrypted access token we held for it is deleted.
- A paid subscription, which is cancelled immediately. If it cannot be cancelled, nothing is deleted and you will be told, so you are never left paying for an account that is gone.
- Your email preferences and the history of emails we sent you.
What is kept
Invoices for a paid subscription stay with our payment processor, Stripe, for as long as tax law requires. Our database provider keeps short-lived backups for disaster recovery; they expire on their own, and we never restore an account from them once it has been deleted.
The Privacy Policy describes everything we collect and why.
